The Flowers Are Popping Up - Along With Some Great Musical Deals And Not One But Two New Directions For STM!

Happy May Day!

It`s Tiffany here! How are you doing? Enjoying the spring so far? We had a pretty rough winter over here - as many of us have -  but it’s so great to see things growing again, or at least wanting to grow – it`s a late start but I can feel it happening! :-)

So, I thought I would set Mews and Moos in a bit of a different direction. I want to use this blog to share things that are beautiful, inspiring and feed the creative spirit. I want to share videos and stories that will help you in your creative pursuits, make you laugh and maybe even make you think differently about life.

I`ve got a bunch of ideas in the works – things about dealing with stage fright, tips for music teachers, inspiring musical stories - but I want to hear from you. What would you like to read or hear about? What would help you along your creative path? I’m ready to do the research so comment on this post and let me know what you want to see!

Okay, so a couple of updates in tiffanyprochera.com land. I’m currently working on creating a whole new website full of awesomeness - inspiration, fun and, of course, great music! It will take time but I’m so looking forward to sharing it with you when it’s all done! This blog will be incorporated into the site so I’ll let you know when the switch-over happens.

Last month, I provided the voice for a Spanish/English video narration project – mucho fun and the folks I was working with in the studio were barbaro!

I recently returned from my first trip overseas –  a week at the International Harp Festival in Edinburg, Scotland and a week seeing the sights in London – and I had a blast! I met amazing people, learned a little harp and a little Gaelic, was mere yards away from Queen Elizabeth at Windsor Castle ( though I didn't actually see her) and had the chance to face some fears – of things like long flights and haggis - which was awesome!

And - drum roll, please - it just so happens that May is my birthday month and I wanted to celebrate by offering to you my two song collections - Bad Moods and Seven Other Super Reasons To Sing A Silly Song and Dreams, Magic and Other Realities - for over 25% off until the end of the month! I’ve also made some of the most popular songs from Bad Moods available as individual downloads so if you wanted Mr. Willywallywolowitz on its own without the rest of the collection, you can get it! Just head to www.tiffanyprochera.com to check them out!

Okay, so I’m so looking forward to hearing about what you want on the blog. Bring it on and have a fabulous day!

STM On Soundcloud

Hello everyone!

We sincerely hope your 2014 is getting off to a rousing start! We've been busy creating more music and finding more tools and more ways to bring you that music!

We have recently opened up a page on Soundcloud at https://soundcloud.com/swimmingtigressmusic  with lots of new vocal and instrumental music from Tiffany Prochera for licensing for media projects. Jazzy and funky, inspiring and toe-tapping, if you're looking for music, check it out!

Along with Soundcloud, we've posted several videos of the tracks on the Swimming Tigress Music YouTube Channel. Here are just a few!

And there's lots more! Subscribe to the STM YouTube Channel today to check them all out!

Tiffany also had a pleasant surprise on the Valentine's weekend when she was volunteering at the Musicthon held by the Manitoba Registered Music Teachers in support of the children's charity, Variety. A fellow music teacher announced that one of her students was singing Mr. Willywallywolowitz, a song from Tiffany's Bad Moods And Seven Other Super Reasons to Sing A Silly Song collection. The singer did a wonderful job and the audience seemed to really enjoy it!  If you're a teacher looking for new music for your students, click here for information about the book!

And Tiffany has also been busy with voice work. She has provided the voice to several training presentations for clients such as Citizen and Leon's over the past few weeks and she's been having a blast! If you're looking for a voice for your media project, check out Tiffany's voice over showcase on YouTube!

Well, that's all for now!  Have a great day and we'll see you again soon!

Performances, Performances and More Performances!

Greetings all from STM and NP Land!

We hope all is well in your world and your enjoying the beginning of preparations for the holiday season. We've been busy here with lots of exciting stuff to tell you about.

On November 4th, Tiffany competed in the National Association  of Teachers of Singing Manitoba Contemporary Song Competition. She performed Aaron Copeland's Nature, The Gentlest Mother and Dream Love by Jean Coutlhard - good times and a highly appreciative audience!

On November 18th,  she accompanied a fellow teacher's student singing her rendition of Purple from Bad Moods and Seven Other Super Reasons to Sing A Silly Song as part of a recital celebrating Canada Music Week. Katherine did an amazing job - dressed head-to-toe in purple to suit the song - and the audience loved it, laughing in all the right places!

And  .... on November 25th Tiffany was the musical guest at the art show The Lives of Women at the Artlington Gallery in Winnipeg put on by Sharon Cory and other guest artists. It was an inspiring afternoon filled with powerful art and great conversation.

If you're looking to hear some grea choral music,  The Esprit De Choeur choral group - of which Tiffany is a member - will be performing at St. John's Chapel at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg on December 8th at 7:00.

And, as the holiday season approaches, you might be looking for gifts for your loved ones. May we make a few suggestions?

It's Getting To Be That Time of Year Again

Ah, Fall!  Just a few weeks away!

It's not to say we haven't been loving the summer and the chance to mellow out a bit here at STM but fall always feels like a time of resurgence - getting back into the groove, as it were. It's kind of exciting actually!

Tiffany will be starting the new lesson season in September so if you or someone you love is looking to advance their vocal skills, visit her website to learn more then contact her at info@swimmingtigress.com and book your introductory meeting. Remember, she offers in-person lessons if your in the Winnipeg area or you can study online via Skype from anywhere!

Tiffany's musical, Mocha and the Moon, is going swimmingly and is just going through some final touch-ups. She will be posting some songs shortly for you to enjoy!

And we may have some very exciting news to share soon about one of her previous projects which is now in the hands of a major film studio. Fingers crossed!

Tiffany has also been doing a lot of voice-over work for a product training company out of Ontario which has been a lot of fun! If you're looking for "the voice" for your commercial, narration or animation,  listen to some demos then contact her for more information.

Well, that's about all from STM!  Enjoy the rest of your summer while it lasts!

Greetings all and Happy Friday!

Here are some updates from the world of STM/NP.

It is exam time in the music world and Tiffany's voice students are looking forward to their moment of truth. Good luck to you all! We're sure you'll do brilliantly! As the regular educational year winds down, it's time to start thinking about summer or fall lessons so if you or someone you know is looking to further their vocal education, don't hesitate to contact us at info@swimmingtigress.com. Remember, not only does Tiffany offer lessons in Winnipeg but you can study online from the comfort of your own home via Skype as well!

Tiffany has also been busy recording training scripts for a company out of Ontario and thoroughly enjoying all she's been learning about showers, body products and anything else that comes her way!

Mocha and the Moon is evolving beautifully and soon we'll be posting demos of some of the songs so you can experience them for yourself. We can't wait for you to hear them!

Well, that's where we're at - buzzing away and enjoying every moment.

Have a great day and remember - always keep a song in your heart!

Happy Monday Everyone!

Here are some updates from STM/NP land!

Tiffany had the pleasure of being a guest solost at the Joie De Vivre Singers spring concert on April 28th. The audience was wonderful and she thoroughly enjoyed singing a couple of Ukranian folk songs arranged by W.H. Anderson as well as her very popular Magical World.

She's also busy working on a new collection of songs for intermediate vocalists and a musical for young people, Mocha and the Moon, about a jersey cow named Mocha with some astronomically high aspirations!

We thought we'd share with you a poem of Tiffany's that is being set to music for the song collection, the dramatic I Have Lost My Bottle of Faerie Dust. Enjoy!

I Have Lost My Bottle Of Faerie Dust

I have lost my bottle of faerie dust
All seems grey now
The memories are fading of a time when the world was sparkling
Once passions ran wild and free, my heart was alive
I can scarcely feel it beating
Once these feet were caressed by the dewy grass in the glow of morning
Like shards of glass the grass seems now
These eyes fixed on the curves of a leaf that had fallen to the ground.
The scent of jasmine would make me shiver with delight
These lips were enraptured by the sweet taste of a berry’s juice.
Now, tis so bland it is sour.
Laughter that once tickled my ears is tainted with a sinister tone
How cruel it sounds! It mocks me.
The stars don’t sing me to sleep.
The music is gone! The music is gone!
I no longer see my wings in the water’s reflection
I no longer feel their weight
I search in vain for the circles of stones and flowers where I used to play
How have I become separated from my kin, my home, where all was joy, all was love
Where springtime was eternal?
Oh where, where is my bottle of faerie dust?
Before all the memories disappear.
Before all colour and light is extinguished.
I must know that magic again

In NP news, we've put up Part 4 of Tabitha's Magical Voice on our new Notalotabull Press Storytime Blog. When the Grenigots discover that Tabitha's voice can save them from the dreaded nados, they want to hold her captive forever. How is she going to get home?  Download your copy of the ebook at www.tiffanyprochera.com.

Tiffany as also submitted a poem to the CBC Canada Writes Poetry Contest this week so keep your fingers crossed! We would totally post the poem for you all to read but the rules say we can't, so...

Well, that's all for now! Have a great day and keep posted for more!
